Johnny's Grill was located at 4025 Monroe Rd and ran from the late 1940's through the early 1960's. It was an early predecessor of Gus' Sir Beef. The son of the owners was George Couchell who, after growing up working for his parents, would eventually open Mr. C's and Showmars.
I lived behind Mr. C's on Monroe Rd for many years. I used to go in there quite frequently as well as Gus' Sir Beef. Mr. C's is now known as the Oakhurst Grille or something but still owned by family members.
