Up until the mid-90's, there were Pizza Huts all over Charlotte (there were five alone in south Charlotte). Today, all of the original sit-down Pizza Huts from the '70's are long gone, but the buildings live on. The Moosehead Grill on Montford Dr once housed one of the best Pizza Huts in south Charlotte (much better than the East Blvd location just down the road). Other than adding a massive front porch, the owners have changed little to the exterior--the same red roof, the same unique keystone-shaped trapezoidal windows, the same brick back-half of the building--all things that still scream "Pizza Hut". The interior is completely changed, but the exterior lives on!

This looks like a perfect entry for the website Not Fooling Anybody.
ReplyDeleteThat site is the inspiration for this series. I actually sent them some pictures three years ago but never heard anything--it's been longer than three years since they're updated their site.
